At COMPUTEX 2025, AMD unveiled the Radeon AI Pro R9700, a professional product built on the RDNA 4 architecture GPU, targeting the edge AI acceleration and professional visualization markets. It features 32GB of dedicated video memory. Initially sold pre-installed in workstations by system integrators and OEMs, this graphics card began retail sales last month with a suggested retail price (MSRP) of $1299.
According to Benchlife, as speculated in recent days, AMD does indeed plan to expand its Radeon AI Pro product line, adding the Radeon AI Pro R9700S and Radeon AI Pro R9600D. The "S" in the Radeon AI Pro R9700S stands for "Server," suggesting a passive cooling module, unlike the previous turbine-style design, utilizing airflow control within a server-like architecture to meet the needs of small to medium-sized data centers.
A few days ago, AMD released Radeon Software for Linux version 25.30.1, a graphics card driver that mentioned the Radeon AI Pro R9600D. If all goes as expected, the Radeon AI Pro R9600D will be a downgraded version of the Radeon AI PRO R9700, hence the "D" in its model name. Another product mentioned in this driver release, the Radeon PRO W7900D, is already available on the official website. Based on its specifications, the new product is a downclocked version of the Radeon PRO W7900, resulting in a performance decrease.
Both the Radeon AI Pro R9700S and Radeon AI Pro R9600D belong to the RDNA 4 architecture, both use the Navi 48 GPU, and both have 32GB of GDDR6 video memory.
