Huawei officially announced today that its latest foldable flagship phone, the Mate X7, will be officially launched in Dubai on December 11, 2025, marking a new chapter for Huawei in the foldable screen field. Notably, the phone was first unveiled in China yesterday, offering five configurations ranging from 12GB+256GB to a 20GB+1TB stylus set, priced between 12,999 yuan and 17,599 yuan, catering to different user needs.
In terms of design, the Mate X7 incorporates the intangible cultural heritage of Yun Brocade craftsmanship into the phone for the first time, launching in five colors: Obsidian Black, Yun Brocade Blue, Yun Brocade White, Cosmic Red, and Phantom Purple. The phone weighs only 235g, with an unfolded thickness of just 4.5mm and a folded thickness of 9.5mm, balancing lightness and a premium feel. Furthermore, the new phone features a new ultra-reliable foldable Xuanwu architecture; the Collector's Edition uses second-generation Xuanwu tempered Kunlun glass for the outer screen, while other versions use second-generation Kunlun glass, supporting IP58/IP59 dust and water resistance, significantly improving durability.
In terms of screen, the Mate X7 features a 6.49-inch 1080p external screen and an 8-inch inward-folding screen, both supporting a 1-120Hz LTPO 2.0 adaptive refresh rate, with peak brightness reaching 3000 nits and 2500 nits respectively, delivering excellent display effects. For performance, it's equipped with a 5600mAh battery, supporting 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging, resulting in an overall performance improvement of over 42%. The imaging system utilizes second-generation Red Maple technology, featuring a rear quad-camera setup: a 50MP variable aperture main camera, a 50MP telephoto macro lens, and a 40MP ultra-wide-angle lens, claiming flagship-level shooting capabilities for a smartphone.
The theme of the Dubai launch event was "Opening a New Chapter," potentially hinting at breakthroughs from Huawei in foldable screen technology and global expansion. With the domestic price announced, overseas pricing and release plans are highly anticipated.
