Recently, Elon Musk revealed in a recent interview that Grok 5 will be released in the first quarter of 2026.
It's worth noting that Musk had previously stated on social media multiple times that the Grok 5 model would be released by the end of 2025, confident that its performance would "crush" its competitor, GPT-5. However, after the release of Grok 4 in July of this year, there has been no news regarding the Grok 5 model. Foreign media reports indicate that xAI's delay in releasing Grok 5 is partly due to resource constraints and extremely stringent testing requirements encountered during development.
As a key step towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), Grok 5 is expected to have approximately 6 trillion parameters, and its training and optimization require enormous computing power. Therefore, the comprehensive testing and development of Grok 5 will require more time to reach the expected high standards.
At Baron Capital's annual investment conference this Friday, Musk stated, "I believe that Grok 5 will far surpass other AI in every metric, becoming the most intelligent AI in the world, without a doubt."
