A tech blogger has showcased line art of the Huawei Mate X7 on social media, combining it with previously leaked images of the actual device by executive Yu Chengdong, revealing the first glimpse of the new generation foldable flagship's design details.
The leaked line art reveals a completely different rear camera module design from its predecessors. The lens area features a "star diamond" design with curved top and bottom edges and straight lines on the left and right, combining strength and softness to present a strong sense of Eastern aesthetics. The blogger commented that it has a "very Chinese style."
Besides the innovative design, the Mate X7 also boasts significant upgrades in core specifications. It is reported that the phone will debut the new Kirin platform (expected to be the Kirin 9030), featuring a 7.95-inch internal screen equipped with UTG ultra-thin flexible glass, supporting 2K resolution and a 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. In terms of imaging, two main camera solutions were tested: one with a 50MP 1/1.56-inch sensor and the other with a 50MP 1/1.3-inch sensor, both supporting a physical variable aperture, and equipped with a 50MP periscope telephoto macro sensor and a multispectral sensor.
The Huawei Mate X7 will be available in five colors: Obsidian Black, Phantom Purple, Cosmic Red, Cloud Blue, and Cloud White. The new phone features a 7.95-inch 2K resolution LTPO screen. This screen uses COE (Chip-on-Earth) polarizer-free technology and UTG glass. Furthermore, leaks suggest that the Mate X7 will have a larger battery, improved imaging capabilities, and be thinner and more versatile than its predecessor. Currently, the phone is tentatively scheduled for release in November.
