Guerrilla Games, the developer of the *Horizon Zero Dawn* series under Sony, previously announced a collaboration with NCSOFT of South Korea to create *Horizon Steel Frontiers*, a spin-off MMORPG in the *Horizon Zero Dawn* series, which will be released free-to-play on iOS, Android, and PC platforms.
*Horizon Steel Frontiers* is set in the world of mechanical hunters known as the "Deadlands." While retaining the iconic hunting action gameplay of the *Horizon Zero Dawn* series, it introduces an advanced MMORPG system. The game is developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is the third project in the collaboration between NCSoft and Sony.
*Horizon Steel Frontiers* is set in a new region of post-apocalyptic America, with environments inspired by Arizona and New Mexico, blending the landscapes of both states. In the game, thousands of players will explore together, teaming up to hunt mechanical behemoths and competing with rival tribes for scarce resources. The game also features a character customization system, allowing players to create and shape their own unique characters.
As a multiplayer cooperative game, *Horizon Steel Frontiers* supports up to 16 players in a single team. The game plans to release 12 types of weapons for players to use, including 6 melee weapons and 6 ranged weapons. In multiplayer games, the ratio of melee to ranged characters required for a match will be 1:1.
