On November 15th, a tech blogger revealed that Xiaomi's new smartwatch will support UWB technology and retain the crown design. CNMO speculates that this watch might be the Watch S5.
CNMO understands that UWB technology boasts centimeter-level high-precision positioning capabilities, enabling "one-finger connection" operations in scenarios such as smart car keys, contactless door locks, and object tracking. Xiaomi has already incorporated UWB into its phones (such as the MIX4, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra), and a recently registered Xiaomi wearable device (model M2542T1) also shows support for UWB, further confirming that this technology is gradually expanding to the entire Xiaomi ecosystem. If the Watch S5 is equipped with UWB, it will be able to achieve more precise interaction with Xiaomi cars, smart home devices, and other devices.
Referring to the current Xiaomi Watch S4 series, the 41mm version features a 1.32-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466×466 pixels and a global brightness of 1500 nits. Battery life has always been a strong point of Xiaomi smartwatches. The S4 41mm boasts up to 8 days of battery life under typical usage. For health monitoring, the S4 employs a new self-developed heart rate algorithm, improving accuracy to 98.2%, and supports all-day blood oxygen monitoring, sleep analysis, and stress tracking. In terms of sports functions, the S4 offers over 150 sports modes, including professional running posture recognition and ski fall detection.
The Xiaomi Watch S4 was first unveiled in October 2024, followed by a compact 41mm model in June 2025. Pricing starts at 999 yuan for the standard Bluetooth version and 1199 yuan for the eSIM version.
