Xiaomi has released the M40 Pro smart lock, offering twelve different unlocking methods and supporting video intercom and a surveillance camera.
This new device can unlock via fingerprint, facial scanning, palm print recognition, and several other methods, including digital passwords and NFC tags. The lock identifies users using two cameras (3MP, 175° field of view + 2MP, 128° field of view). With infrared illumination, the device can "see" users even in complete darkness.
The device uses neural network algorithms to identify people and packages and displays a live video stream on a 5-inch screen. Users can control the lock and view archived video recordings via a mobile app. If someone attempts to break in, the lock will send a notification to the user's phone.
The Xiaomi Smart Lock M40 Pro supports HyperOS Connect for connectivity with other smart home devices. It has an 8000mAh battery and can be powered by four AA batteries. The new device is already available in China for $533; availability in other markets has not yet been announced.
