In the 39th episode of the BG2 podcast on November 1st, OpenAI CEO Altman and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella conducted a joint interview regarding their collaboration. Addressing a report that OpenAI's annual revenue is approximately $13 billion (about 92.58 billion yuan), Altman explicitly refuted this, stating, "Our revenue is far more than that," but did not disclose specific figures.
During the interview, Altman also denied rumors that OpenAI plans to go public next year, emphasizing that "the board has not made any decisions, and there is no specific timetable." This statement contrasts with a Reuters report on October 30th—which claimed that OpenAI was preparing for an IPO with a potential valuation of $1 trillion, potentially becoming one of the largest IPOs in history. In response, an OpenAI spokesperson stated that "an IPO is not a current priority; the company's core mission is to promote the democratization of general artificial intelligence."
Previously, on October 7th, it was reported that OpenAI had signed AI infrastructure contracts worth a total of $1 trillion (approximately 7.12 trillion yuan) with Nvidia, AMD, and Oracle, aiming to acquire over 20 gigawatts of computing power (equivalent to 20 nuclear reactors). However, some questioned whether the plan far exceeded its financial capabilities. Altman did not directly address this issue in his podcast, only reiterating that the deep collaboration with Microsoft would strengthen its technological infrastructure.
