ARC Raiders, a sci-fi third-person PvPvE extraction shooter developed by Embark Studios of Sweden and published by NEXON, will be released on October 30, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As one of the hottest games recently, ARC Raiders has maintained a remarkably fast sales pace since its release.
According to Wccftech, ARC Raiders has already sold 4 million copies on Steam and nearly 7 million copies across all platforms, dominating recent game sales and further proving that it is one of the hottest video games of 2025. A strong launch is just the first step; if it maintains its high popularity over the next year, its revenue will be considerable.
Similar to The Finals, released in 2023, ARC Raiders has faced controversy due to its use of AI technology during development, resulting in resistance from some game media and players. The official Steam store page includes a disclaimer stating that the game's visuals "do not use any generative AI," but acknowledges that some voice acting uses text-to-speech technology. The development team believes that the introduction of new technologies is beneficial to game development and can better support the game's long-term development.
This approach and explanation from the development team did not completely quell external criticism, and at one point, it caused concern about the future of *ARC Raiders*. However, it now appears that such concerns were unnecessary. Both game sales and recent online player numbers indicate that the controversy surrounding AI technology has not had a significant impact.
According to the official 2025 update roadmap, the November "North Line" update has already gone live, along with the new map "Star Mountain." The "Cold Snap" update is also scheduled for December, expected to arrive on December 14th.
