
Chinese company MAIBENBEN has announced the launch of a series of laptops in Russia pre-installed with the Astra Linux operating system. These laptops are targeted at both business and home users.
The flagship of the series will be the MAIBENBEN B514B‑i736UM laptop, featuring a 14-inch display (2880x1800 pixels, 90 Hz, 400 cd/m²). This model is equipped with an Intel Core i7-13620H processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 62Wh battery.
All laptops pre-installed with Astra Linux are targeted at small and medium-sized businesses. Mikhail Gellerman, Astra Group's Director of Operating Systems, stated that the partnership with MAIBENBEN will enable the company to offer its operating system on high-performance, full-featured hardware.
Nikolai Shmykov, Director of Corporate Business Development at Maibenben, noted that the manufacturer's goal is to ensure quality, reliability, and after-sales service, and that the company has begun gradually upgrading its technology lineup, "starting with a small number of units."
While these laptops are intended for business use, they will also be available in the retail market. Home models will run the general Astra Linux distribution, while enterprise customers will need to purchase a license for the Astra Linux Special Edition. Availability and pricing for the new models will be announced later.
