Apple is about to release an upgraded MacBook Pro, featuring a touchscreen.
According to reports, the two laptops, currently codenamed K114 and K116, are expected to be released in late 2026 or early 2027. In addition to OLED touchscreens, the devices will feature a thinner and lighter design and the new M6 chip. The upgraded MacBook Pro will retain a full-size trackpad and keyboard. The company will also ditch the rectangular notch that houses the webcam in the current model in favor of a dynamic, island-style design similar to the iPhone. The laptop will also feature a new hinge and kickstand to prevent the screen from shifting and shaking when touched.
Due to more expensive components, the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros are expected to cost hundreds of dollars more than the current versions. By comparison, the current 14-inch version without a touchscreen and equipped with a high-performance processor starts at $1,999, and the 16-inch version starts at $2,499.
