To celebrate its centennial, Danish brand Bang & Olufsen released special editions of its Beoplay H100 headphones and A9 and A5 speakers, dubbed the "Centennial Collection." These special editions differ from the standard editions, featuring retro-inspired designs and original materials.
The brand claims its new products are inspired by different periods in its history. The special edition Beoplay H100 headphones feature a leather headband, decorative glass discs inside the earcups, and a 1970s color scheme, but the basic specifications remain unchanged.
Each anniversary product is emblazoned with the company founder's quote, "We remain unwavering in our commitment to creating the best products possible," and the "B&O Est. 1925" logo.
The Beosound A5 special edition speaker differs from the base model, featuring a matte aluminum frame and fabric trim inspired by vintage radios. However, its internal design remains modern: like the original, it supports Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity and features a 280-watt speaker.
The Beosound A9 speaker, wrapped in a fabric called Centennial Cadence, features an aluminum frame and matte-finished feet reminiscent of Bang & Olufsen products from the 1980s.
The Centennial series is now available in Europe. The Beosound A5 and Beoplay A9 speakers are priced at €1,500 and €4,500, respectively, while the Beoplay H100 headphones are priced at €1,800.
