According to overseas media outlet Canon Rumors, more specifications for Canon's full-frame mirrorless camera, the EOS R6 Mark III, have been revealed. The model is reportedly slated for an official release on November 6th, with shipments beginning in late November. Pricing is expected to be $2,899 USD or €2,899 EUR.
According to reports, the EOS R6 Mark III will feature the same 34.2-megapixel (or 32-megapixel) full-frame CMOS sensor as the Cinema EOS C50, supporting Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus, capable of simultaneously detecting multiple subjects. The camera also features 6.5-stop in-body 5-axis image stabilization (IBIS), a pre-shoot function, and continuous shooting with an electronic shutter at up to 40 fps. The maximum ISO setting is 64,000. Furthermore, the new camera will support Open Gate mode, providing more flexible video shooting formats.
Specs that haven't been fully confirmed include: dual UHS-II SD card slots, which will help reduce storage costs, as CFexpress Type B cards remain relatively expensive; a full-size HDMI port, potentially resolving the connectivity issues associated with the micro HDMI port used in previous models; the use of a new LP-E6P battery, which is partially compatible with existing LP-E6 series batteries; support for CLog-3 color mode, which improves dynamic range but doesn't reach the 16 stops of the C50; a 3-inch tilting LCD screen and a 5.76 million-dot electronic viewfinder; and a built-in DIGIC acceleration processor with passive cooling.
Sources indicate that the confirmed specifications are highly reliable, while the unconfirmed information comes from trusted sources. While the overall specifications haven't seen a significant upgrade, improvements like the dual SD card slots and full-size HDMI port meet user expectations.
