Xiaomi has released the Mijia Air Purifier 6 Duo in China. This new model features a dual filtration system for enhanced performance, effectively removing formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) commonly found in new furniture and building materials.
According to the company, this air purifier is suitable for rooms ranging from 65 to 96 square meters. It utilizes a composite filtration structure, including a pre-filter for dust removal, an antibacterial layer, a high-density formaldehyde filter, a nanofilter, an activated carbon layer, a special compound insert for formaldehyde decomposition, and a UV sterilization module.
This structure is reportedly capable of removing up to 99% of formaldehyde and 99.99% of the H1N1 virus within an hour. It can also treat over 98% of allergens such as pollen and dust mites.
Six built-in sensors measure PM1, PM2.5, dust, formaldehyde, temperature, and humidity. Real-time readings are displayed on a small built-in display. The Mijia mobile app allows for remote control of the purifier and viewing of air quality indicators.
In sleep mode, the noise level is only 31.6 dB(A), making it suitable for nighttime use. The new device is equipped with wheels for easy mobility, and a magnetic filter door allows for quick maintenance.
The Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier 6 Duo is priced at $365, with a single set of filters costing $42 and providing a 12-month lifespan.
