At the Red Magic Gaming and Liquid Cooling Technology Launch Event, Nubia, the eponymous gaming brand, unveiled a new product: the industry's first mass-produced liquid cooling system for smartphones.
The proprietary liquid cooling system's design is similar to solutions found in gaming PCs. A pump circulates the liquid through a circuit, where it is then cooled by a fan and radiator. This design is more efficient than traditional vapor chamber systems.
To fit the entire circuit into a smartphone, the brand had to significantly reduce the size of all components. The core of the liquid cooling system is a piezoelectric ceramic micropump, and the channels for the liquid flow are created using laser cutting technology. The coolant maintains its performance in temperatures ranging from -40 to +70°C.
The cooling system also includes a fan that spins at up to 24,000 rpm. The smartphone's body, including the liquid cooling area, is IPX8 waterproof.
The first phone to feature the new liquid cooling system will be the Red Magic 11 Pro gaming smartphone, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. According to the brand, it can run "Wuthering Heights" at 90 fps in ultra settings for 120 minutes without any performance degradation. The device will be released on October 17th.
