The Orange Pi 4 Pro single-board computer, a direct competitor to the Raspberry Pi 5, has been released. It features an eight-core CPU with a neural network processor, 16 GB of RAM, and the ability to connect an M2 SSD.
The Orange Pi 4 Pro is powered by an eight-core Allwinner A733 chip (two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores), up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and eMMC storage options of 16, 32, 64, or 128 GB. It also has a microSD card slot, and an M.2 SSD can be connected via PCIe 3.0.
Like the Raspberry Pi 5, the new computer features a color 40-pin connector for peripherals. It supports the MIPI CSI protocol for connecting cameras, and the MIPI DSI protocol for displays. The interface suite includes Ethernet, a USB 3.0 port, and three USB 2.0 ports, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 modules. The integrated NPU, with 3 TOPS performance, is capable of performing simple AI tasks.
