SwitchBot has released a gadget designed to help in emergencies. It's designed to increase safety, such as when taking a walk alone or returning home late at night.
The SwitchBot Security Alarm looks like an ordinary keychain, but its compact design hides a wealth of features. For example, it can function as an NFC key, a tracker, and a personal alarm.
The SwitchBot Security Alarm's key feature is its 130-decibel siren. This is 30 decibels louder than the Pebblebee siren, previously considered the loudest on the market. Pulling the ring on the keychain activates the siren, which also flashes the device's LED light.
Double-clicking the device can make a fake call, even if your phone is on silent mode. This feature is useful if you need to interrupt an unwanted conversation.
The SwitchBot app also allows you to send notifications to family members with their location. The gadget costs $39.99.
