Digging deep into the One UI 8.5 system firmware code revealed the design changes for the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 earbuds for the first time. An icon file named "list_ic_earbuds_buds4" within the code reveals that while the new earbuds retain the stem-like design, the overall outline has shifted from the sharp triangle of the Buds 3 to a more rounded silhouette, resulting in a more minimalist and softer style.
This icon is commonly used to display the earbuds' shape in the device connection menu, making it a valuable reference. Compared to the previous generation, the Buds 4's stems may be similar in length, but with smoother edges, eliminating the signature triangular cutout. This change may be to improve wearing comfort or due to internal structural optimizations.
Samsung has not officially confirmed this design, but firmware code leaks are generally credible. If confirmed, the Galaxy Buds 4 will be the first in Samsung's true wireless earbuds lineup to feature a rounded stem design and are expected to launch alongside the next-generation Galaxy Z series foldable phone.
