Chinese company DEEP Robotics has launched a humanoid robot called the DR02. The robot is positioned as the first on the market to be resistant to moisture, dust, and low temperatures. However, in terms of basic specifications, the model is comparable to most competitors.
The DEEP Robotics DR02 is designed for commercial use outdoors and in high-humidity environments. Standing 175 cm tall, the robot has an IP66 rating and an operating temperature range of -20 to +55°C.
The DR02 has a cruising speed of 1.5 m/s and a maximum speed of 4 m/s. The robot can climb stairs up to 20 cm high, overcome a 20-degree slope, and carry a load of up to 20 kg.
Thanks to a multi-sensor "perception" system, the DR02 is capable of real-time route planning. Another feature of the robot is its modular design, which allows for quick component removal for replacement or maintenance.
Pricing for the new product hasn't been announced, but it will likely be more expensive than the base model without waterproofing, which starts at $38,500.
