At the Finopolis 2025 Anniversary Forum on Innovative Financial Technologies, MTS Bank unveiled a new contactless payment method for mobile devices. Unlike most similar products, it's even compatible with push-button payment devices that lack wireless interfaces and intelligent firmware.
This new technology requires no stickers or software installation on smartphones. Payments are made using a digital payment capsule that looks like a regular SIM card. Its housing incorporates Bluetooth and NFC antennas, allowing payments to be made even with push-button phones.
Contactless payments using the new accessory are similar to using NFC. Simply touch the device to the terminal to complete the transaction.
According to the developers, users of this new SIM card will be able to activate two bank cards simultaneously. All operations (selecting a default card, blocking, and viewing transaction history) can be performed within the bank's mobile app. The company also noted that the new technology ensures a high level of security due to the physical separation of the SIM card chip and payment element.
