Neural networks are typically used as supplementary tools for smartphone photo processing. But developers at the British startup Camera Intelligence have taken things a step further, creating Caira, an AI-powered mirrorless camera that attaches to your iPhone and replaces its main camera module.
Thanks to the MagSafe magnetic mount, this new device transforms your smartphone into a comfortable, grippy camera. With Caira, you can take a photo and use the Nano Banana neural network to instantly edit it: adjusting lighting, reproducing color, removing unwanted objects, and more.
Caira supports interchangeable Micro Four Thirds camera lenses and comes with its own battery. According to its developers, its image sensor is 400% larger than that of a phone, a significant advantage over the iPhone's built-in camera.
Caira will be available for pre-order on Kickstarter starting October 30th, but pricing has not yet been announced.
