Figure has unveiled its third-generation humanoid robot, Figure 03. This new robot is not just a prototype or experiment, but a fully functional general assistant capable of learning from humans and performing everyday tasks. Figure 03 is built on the Helix AI system.
The robot features a newly upgraded sensor system and a manipulator with an integrated palm camera. The new sensor delivers a two-fold increase in frame rate, a four-fold decrease in latency, and a 60% larger field of view.
Tactile sensors on the robot's fingers can detect pressure as low as 3g—enough to feel the touch of a paper clip. The robot can also upload data at 10 Gbps for continuous learning. Figure 03 is 9% lighter and features a soft, multi-layer textile coating for impact protection. It can also be inductively charged through a simple docking.
Figure 03 is the company's first robot designed for mass production. BotQ's new factory has already launched a production line with an annual capacity of 12,000 units, with plans to produce 100,000 robots within the next four years.
