Patent images of Samsung's announced but unreleased three-piece foldable smartphone have surfaced online. The document, published by the KIPRIS database, reveals key design features.
According to the leak, each of the three sections of the Galaxy Z TriFold will have its own battery, with the battery capacity increasing the further away from the camera module. The total capacity has not yet been announced, but given the larger screen size, it's expected to be higher than the Galaxy Z Fold7 (4400 mAh).
The patent also provides more detailed design and folding mechanism diagrams compared to earlier prototypes. Rumors suggest Samsung is nearing completion of development and preparing to launch the smartphone as early as the end of October. However, sources suggest the first model may be available in limited quantities—only in South Korea and China, similar to the experimental Galaxy Z Fold SE.
The device is rumored to be powered by a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 200-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Its main feature is a 10-inch foldable widescreen Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.
