The concept of the "perfect smartphone" is outdated. After creating a dream device for MKBHD, it's now the turn of another well-known tech blogger, Arun Maini (better known as MrWhoseTheBoss). The company partnered with Maini to create a virtual flagship and estimate its price.
According to the blogger, his dream smartphone would be a true all-rounder. It would feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, an OLED display, Qi2 magnetic charging technology, and a battery capacity exceeding 5,000 mAh. For the camera, he chose the Xiaomi Mi 15 Ultra system—equipped with four modules, including a telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom. However, Nothing's receipt strangely lists modules from the Mi 3a Pro, which seems a bit odd for such a device, especially considering it has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.
The smartphone's design is similar to the Pixel 6, but with design elements from the Turing Phone. The camera is located on a horizontal "sun visor strip," and the body is made of titanium, with scratch-resistant sapphire glass on the front and back. It also features a 3.5mm audio jack, a microSD card slot, and stereo speakers. Maini also recommends improved customer support with 24/7 multilingual support.
Nothing calculates that the smartphone cost $1,163 (materials alone), but taking into account all production costs, the total cost would exceed $26 million. The retail price is expected to be $1,800.
Of course, the company has no plans to actually release the device; it simply wants to keep people interested in its brand.
