Honor Magic 8 series officially announced to be released on October 15th, equipped with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5

Honor officially announced the release of its new flagship phone, the Magic 8 series, on October 15th.

According to CNMO, the Honor Magic 8 series includes standard, Pro, Ultra, and Mini versions. In terms of performance, the phones are equipped with the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition mobile platform, built on TSMC's 3nm process, boasting a 30% improvement in GPU performance over the previous generation. Honor Product Manager Li Kun shared a screenshot of the AnTuTu benchmark on Weibo, showing a high score of 4.16 million at room temperature.

The imaging system is a major highlight of the Honor Magic 8 series. The Pro version features a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, supporting native 10x optical zoom and 200x hybrid zoom. The main camera uses a 1-inch custom-made sensor from China with a variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0. The standard version also features a 50-megapixel main camera and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, meeting users' daily photography needs. The Honor Magic8 series also boasts significant improvements in low-light telephoto photography. Through multi-pixel binning technology, the Honor Magic8 series significantly increases light intake in low-light environments.

Regarding the display, the Honor Magic8 Pro features a 6.71-inch 2K LTPO quad-curved screen with an adaptive refresh rate of 1 to 120Hz, 4320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a peak brightness of 6000nits. The standard and Mini versions feature a 1.5K flat screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and professional eye protection, balancing practicality and comfort.

For battery life, the Honor Magic8 Pro and Ultra versions are equipped with a 7000mAh Qinghai Lake battery. This battery maintains 90% of its capacity even in extremely cold conditions as low as -20°C. The standard and Mini versions also feature a large 6500mAh battery. For fast charging, the entire series supports 100W wired fast charging, which can charge the phone to 50% in 20 minutes. CNMO also learned that the Pro and Ultra versions also support 80W wireless fast charging.
