Realme 15T Review: Lightweight, long-lasting, and a perfect Apple device for under $1,000

In recent years, a clear trend has emerged in the domestic mobile phone market: creating Android phones with a distinct Apple feel. We've seen a variety of new products, including the vPhone, OPhone, and mPhone. Not only are these products designed to rival the iPhone, creating an Apple-like feel, but they've also embraced deep iOS compatibility, breaking down the barriers between Android and iOS and allowing data and experiences to flow freely between the two platforms. Now, a new player has emerged in this market: realme has created its own Android phone with the realme 15T!

Recently, realme launched the realme 15 series in overseas markets, attracting considerable attention. The realme 15T also made its debut, featuring a 6.57" wide-angle, small, straight screen, a mini-capsule design, and a metal square design. It boasts a massive 7000mAh battery, a 7.79mm thickness, and weighs 181g. This exceptionally stylish and compact Android phone has become a highly noteworthy "Apple phone" in the mid-range price range. On September 16th, the realme 15 series officially launched in China, along with the realme 15T. Next, let's unveil this device and savor its promise.

The realme 15T boasts a 6.57-inch flat screen with well-controlled bezels, resulting in a 93% screen-to-body ratio. Complementing the flat screen are the wide R-angle design on all four corners, with the screen's corners rounded to match the body's, giving it a striking appearance.

realme 15T Review: Thin, light, and long-lasting, it's the perfect "Apple" for a budget phone.

Furthermore, the realme 15T features a three-dimensional mid-frame design, which, combined with its size, creates a grip that feels very iPhone-like, a common feature of many current Android phones. The realme 15T's screen quality is also excellent, supporting 10-bit color depth, 4000 nits peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, ensuring comfortable viewing even in bright sunlight.

On the back, the realme 15T features a square camera deco design in the upper left corner. The entire module is crafted from a single piece of metal, further highlighting the device's premium feel. Optimized internal structure minimizes the prominent lens protrusion, creating a subtle transition from the back panel to the camera unit. This ensures a comfortable grip for fingers during daily use, whether holding the phone in portrait mode for watching short videos or in landscape mode for gaming.

The Phantom Black color scheme isn't a completely black, but rather features a matte finish with a shimmering black. It's not only shiny but also comfortable to the touch, resisting excessive fingerprints and preventing it from becoming a fingerprint magnet over time. The realme 15T is only 7.79mm thick, making it noticeably thin. It weighs only 181g, giving it a lightweight and comfortable feel. If thickness and weight are important considerations when choosing a phone, the realme 15T's thinness is a real plus.

Of course, don't be fooled by the Realme 15T's slim and light body and assume the battery is too small and its battery life isn't good enough. Quite the opposite. Leveraging its years of expertise in batteries and fast charging, Realme has packed a massive 7000mAh battery into the Realme 15T, providing a strong sense of security.

To clearly demonstrate the Realme 15T's battery life, we conducted a battery life test. 30 minutes of TikTok video streaming consumed 2%, 30 minutes of Weibo video streaming consumed 2%, 30 minutes of WeChat video streaming consumed 4%, 30 minutes of playing Honor of Kings at 60fps, ultra-high resolution, and HD quality consumed 4%, 30 minutes of navigation consumed 2%, and 30 minutes of online 1080P video streaming consumed 2%. For a total battery life of 16% over 3 hours, the Realme 15T performed very well, providing a sense of security for daily use.

We also conducted charging tests. The realme 15T supports 60W Super Flash Charging, charging from 1% to 100% in 77 minutes—a very good performance for a phone with a 7000Ah battery in the mid-range price range. Furthermore, the realme 15T has also adopted its flagship bypass charging technology, allowing the power supply to bypass the battery directly, significantly reducing heat and ensuring stable frame rates for games. No more worrying about the phone heating up and affecting gameplay while charging.

Not only that, the realme 15T boasts a lightweight design with long battery life, while also offering exceptional protection. It supports IP69, IP68, and IP66 waterproof ratings, making it suitable for a wide range of environments. It can even withstand immersion in extreme water depths of up to 2 meters for 30 minutes, giving users a strong sense of security. Furthermore, the realme 15T features High-Energy Outdoor Mode 2.0, which uses network and positioning to optimize signal strength in weak networks and crowded areas, improving order collection and delivery efficiency. When a call comes in while headphones are not connected, it automatically turns on the speakerphone and increases the hands-free volume. The realme 15T is exceptionally user-friendly for delivery drivers, boasting a deeply optimized experience. Its IP69 waterproof rating ensures outdoor workers can navigate even the elements, even in the rain.

In terms of performance, the realme 15T boasts swift app launches and smooth switching between high-frequency tasks, even handling light gaming. Its 6050mm² tempered VC heat dissipation effectively ensures unleashed performance.

In terms of imaging, the realme 15T is quite impressive, featuring 50MP front and rear cameras, meeting basic daily photography needs. To enhance selfies, it supports five soft light filters: Dawn Dream, Nostalgic Scenery, Hazy, Soft, and Dreamy, allowing you to capture selfies with a variety of textures and atmospheres, a rare feature in its price range.

As the first "T" model in the realme digital product line, the realme 15T aims to deliver an Apple-like experience in the 1,000 yuan price range, making it quite attractive to many users. After all, sufficient market sales have proven that when various manufacturers' products begin to align with the iPhone, sales will see a clear upward trend, which will be even more pronounced in the 1,000-yuan phone market. Furthermore, the realme 15T also demonstrates realme's product philosophy, which not only aims to provide users with a true iPhone experience but also highlights its unique characteristics. With features like ultra-long battery life and full waterproofing, it is a true disruptor in the 1,000-yuan price range.
