Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro: Double the cost and increase the efficiency! Aiming to be the No. 1 tablet performance

Following the official announcement of the Xiaomi Mi 17 series, Xiaomi also released the latest updates on its tablet lineup. Although the launch event is still pending, I've already gotten my hands on the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro. Now, with the risk of leaking any details, let me show you the true face of the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro, which ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3.

Family-style design, lightweight and effortless

In terms of appearance, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro inherits the family-style design of its predecessor, featuring an all-metal integrated design and hidden antennas with no exposed breakouts. It maintains the familiar layout and feel. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is available in three colors: black, turquoise green, and ice blue, all of which are low-saturation colors that are sure to last.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro features an 11.2-inch 3.2K UHD screen with a resolution of 3200*2136 and a PPI of 345. It supports a high refresh rate of up to 144Hz and can also adjust to seven adaptive refresh rates: 30, 48, 50, 60, 90, 120, and 144Hz, to better suit users' needs in different scenarios.

In addition to the standard version, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro also offers a soft light version. Compared to a standard glass screen, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro soft light version features a nano-soft light screen that eliminates 99% of distracting light, reduces screen reflectivity by 70%, and reduces flare by 44%, making it easier to use in environments with complex lighting.

It's worth noting that while the screen size remains unchanged, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro has further reduced both thickness and weight. The entire device is just 5.75mm thick and weighs only 485g. Even with the keyboard case, it weighs only about 800g, making it lightweight and easy to use for both daily use and on-the-go.

Furthermore, despite the reduction in thickness and weight, the battery life has actually increased. Not only the Pro version, but the entire Xiaomi Pad 8 series comes standard with a 9200mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting battery life.

The Ultimate Performance of an Android Tablet

At its core, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition processor. This performance boosts its benchmark scores by 62% and its CPU multi-core performance by 78% compared to its predecessor, achieving an AnTuTu score of over 3.01 million. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro also features LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 flash storage, ensuring full performance and easy handling even in frequently loaded scenarios.

As for gaming performance, as usual, I launched "Genshin Impact" directly, again with the game screen set to the highest setting and the frame rate set to the highest 60Hz. After 30 minutes of running maps and killing monsters, the performance dog finally captured an average frame rate of 59.6 FPS, which is basically stress-free.

It is worth mentioning that the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro has not only invested heavily in mobile gaming, but also in PC gaming. The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro has the Xiaomi WinPlay engine built in, which performs three-layer virtualization translation for the instruction set, API interface, and graphics required for Windows games. Ultimately, users can play some Windows games stably on the Pad.

Powered by Xiaomi HyperOS 3, it's silky smooth, fluid, and user-friendly.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro runs the all-new Xiaomi HyperOS 3, delivering a smoother and more fluid experience, both in terms of basic fluidity and transition animations. Furthermore, for multi-window usage, common on tablets, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro incorporates "Multi-Window Focus Scheduling" technology. This technology prioritizes resources over the foreground window, improving overall fluidity and reducing overall energy consumption, achieving multiple benefits at once.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3 also boasts significant aesthetic changes, with visible upgrades across the entire system, from the lock screen style and desktop wallpaper to desktop icons and the status bar. For example, the new lock screen interface is more stylish and offers significantly greater customization, while the dynamic wallpapers on both the lock screen and desktop are exceptional.

It's worth noting that the browsers on the Xiaomi Pad 8 series have all been completely redesigned to align with PC browsers, ensuring the same web browsing experience as on PCs. From an overall user experience perspective, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro's new desktop-level browser is virtually identical to its PC counterpart, from its interface logic to its look and feel. Whether for learning or office work, this feature is incredibly useful and user-friendly.

As for accessories, the floating keyboard and stylus are still included. I'm particularly pleased with the new Xiaomi Focus Stylus Pro, as it finally eliminates buttons in favor of an all-in-one design, further enhancing its overall quality and grip.

Other features include the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard across the entire Xiaomi Pad 8 series, along with support for infrared remote control, NFC touch transfer, and other advanced features. Furthermore, to enhance user privacy, the Xiaomi Pad 8 series features a built-in indicator light that illuminates green when an app accesses the camera, instantly alerting users to sensitive permissions. Furthermore, AlwaysOn technology intelligently detects whether the user is in front of the screen, allowing the screen to unlock when they approach and automatically lock when they leave, making it even more seamless and convenient.

Final Words

Since Xiaomi relaunched its tablet business, it's clear that the company has put considerable effort into its products. With a comprehensive range of sizes, from small to large, software and hardware performance continues to improve, and accessories are becoming increasingly sophisticated and practical. The latest Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is even more comprehensive, especially with its Snapdragon 8 Ultra processor and Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which enhances its performance even further, making it a truly exceptional Android tablet.
