Before the release of the Google Pixel 10 series, rumors suggested the phones would use a MediaTek modem. However, after the phones were released, some netizens discovered that these models still used the same Samsung Exynos modem as their predecessors.
However, the Google Pixel 11 series, set to be released next year, may see some changes. Reports indicate that the Google Pixel 11 series will use the MediaTek M90 modem, paired with Google's own Tensor G6 SoC.
In terms of performance, the MediaTek M90 modem, released in February of this year, supports peak downlink performance of up to 12Gbps. It complies with 3GPP Release 17 and 18 standards and supports Sub-6 5G and millimeter wave, as well as 5G dual-SIM dual standby and built-in satellite connectivity.
Notably, the MediaTek M90 also features MediaTek's first built-in modem AI technology, abbreviated "NMAI," which introduces AI models that improve device energy efficiency and communication performance. The AI model intelligently identifies data traffic patterns to optimize power consumption and latency. It also provides a superior network connection experience by detecting device orientation and usage scenarios.
Therefore, if the Google Pixel 11 series uses a MediaTek modem, its signal performance will be even more promising.
