Apple's October new product preview: The M5 iPad Pro leads multiple hardware upgrades.

apple is expected to announce multiple new products in october, but it's unclear whether the announcement will be made at a press conference or directly via a press release. apple typically announces the release date of new products before their launch and has maintained this pattern for the past four years. the 2021 "unleashed" event was held on october 18, the 2022 "take note" event was also held on the same day, and the 2023 "scary fast" event was scheduled for october 30. last year's "mac your calendars" event was held from october 28 to 30.

the most anticipated product this month is the m5 ipad pro. according to leaks from russian blogger wylsacom, the design will be almost the same as the current m4 version, but the "ipad pro" logo on the back will be removed and a single-camera design will be adopted. while maintaining a 9-core cpu configuration, geekbench tests show a 10% increase in single-core performance and a 15% increase in multi-core performance, and the l2 cache has been increased to 6mb. furthermore, the device will feature a dual front-facing camera and may optimize video calls in both landscape and portrait modes.

the improved vision pro headset has obtained fcc certification and will be equipped with either the m4 or m5 chip. the design has been slightly modified, but the headband design has been completely revamped, adopting a new "space grey" color scheme for a more professional look. the apple tv is expected to be equipped with the a17 pro chip, indicating the direction of apple's next-generation smart devices. it will support wi-fi 7, but may not include a facetime camera. the homepod mini will be equipped with a chip from the s9 or later, featuring a second-generation ultra-wideband chip and a new red color scheme. the new generation of airtags will have three times the tracking range, improved design for preventing speaker theft, and two additional low-battery warning levels.
