
the us startup company inversion announced the spacecraft arc, which promises to transport cargo to anywhere on earth within an hour. the launch took place at the company's los angeles facility.
the arc rocket can carry up to 225kg of cargo and is designed to stay in orbit for up to five years before landing. during re-entry, the spacecraft will perform a maximum of 1,000km of lateral maneuvers before landing by parachute.
the fuel is non-toxic, allowing for immediate re-entry. the company previously conducted a test of the 90kg ray satellite as part of spacex's transporter-12 mission. ray confirmed the functionality of its attitude control system and propulsion system, but did not return to earth and remained in orbit for long-term testing.
the company plans to conduct the first launch of the arc by the end of 2026. manufacturing of the 1.2m x 2.4m arc has already begun, and approximately 60 employees are currently working on the project.
