today, just 14 days after its previous official release, apple officially released ios/ipados 26.0.1 (build number: 23a355) for iphone and ipad users. this update primarily addresses issues with the iphone 17 series and certain features, and also provides a security patch for devices that cannot upgrade to ios 26.

according to the official release notes, ios 26.0.1 addresses several critical issues. firstly, it fixes the problem where wi-fi and bluetooth connections sometimes disconnect on the iphone 17, iphone air, and iphone 17 pro. additionally, it resolves the issue where some users cannot connect to mobile networks after updating to ios 26. regarding photography, it addresses artifacts that may occur in photos under certain lighting conditions. it also fixes the problem where app icons become blank after adding custom color tints, and the issue where voiceover is disabled for some users.

ipados 26.0.1 also addresses voiceover issues, improves the stability of the floating keyboard, and prevents it from accidentally shifting positions. notably, apple also released version 18.7.1 for devices running ios 18. this update only includes security fixes and is recommended for all users.
