mark gurman, a well-known journalist, recently stated that apple will release new products including the iphone 17e, a new low-cost ipad, and an updated ipad air in the first half of next year. according to previous reports, the iphone 17e will be the successor to this year's iphone 16e, featuring the same a19 chip and a similar design as the iphone 17.

according to previous leaks from digital chat station, the biggest difference from the previous generation iphone 16e is the upgraded screen with a smart island design. this means that apple will completely abandon the notch design from the iphone 17e onwards.

however, the screen size and refresh rate of the iphone 17e remain unchanged. it still has a 6.1-inch oled display with a standard 60hz refresh rate. according to digital chat station, the iphone 17e will feature the same screen as the standard iphone 16.

the iphone 17e is equipped with an upgraded a19 processor, 8gb of built-in memory, a 12mp front camera, and a 48mp rear camera. it supports 3d face recognition and apple intelligence, and comes pre-installed with ios 26.

in terms of pricing, the iphone 17e is expected to inherit the pricing structure of the iphone 16e, with a starting price of 4,499 yuan, making it the most cost-effective model in the iphone 17 series.
