Lei Jun, founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, announced via social media that he will hold his annual speech on September 25th. Lei Jun stated that the theme of the speech is "Change," and that he will share the stories behind the Xiaomi Xuanjie chip and Xiaomi Auto.
In his fifth annual speech on July 19, 2024, under the theme of "Courage," Lei Jun shared Xiaomi's automotive journey and the ups and downs of the past three years. During the speech, Xiaomi launched several major products, including the new-generation foldable flagship Xiaomi MIX Fold 4, the first small foldable phone, the MIX Flip, and the REDMI K70 Extreme Edition. Also released were several ecosystem products, including the Xiaomi Buds 5 earphones and the Mi Band 9. The biggest surprise was Lei Jun's unveiling of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype, a top-of-the-line pure electric vehicle.
It's worth noting that Xiaomi previously announced the September release of the new Xiaomi 17 series, making it very likely that Lei Jun will officially unveil the 17 series after his speech. According to CNMO, the Xiaomi 17 series will include three models: Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 17 series will be the world's first to feature the fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition mobile platform and a 7,000+ mAh battery. The Pro series will adopt a horizontal rectangular module design and feature a "Magic Back Screen." For imaging, the Xiaomi 17 series continues its partnership with Leica, featuring a triple 50-megapixel lens combination with 5x optical zoom. The Pro Max model will also feature a 200-megapixel telephoto lens.
