Samsung releases Galaxy S25 FE: Exynos 2400 chip + 4900mAh battery, starting at $649

On the eve of the 2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (IFA) in Berlin, Samsung Electronics officially launched the Galaxy S25 FE, the budget-friendly flagship in the Galaxy S25 series. As the latest member of the series, it has attracted market attention with its well-balanced specifications and relatively affordable price.

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy S25 FE is equipped with an Exynos 2400 processor based on a 4nm process. It comes standard with 8GB of RAM across the board, and offers storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. It features a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED punch-hole display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, balancing smooth display and power consumption. The imaging system, equipped with the ProVisual Engine, features a triple rear camera setup: a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS. The front camera also features a 12-megapixel lens, meeting diverse shooting needs.

In terms of battery life and design, the phone boasts a built-in 4900mAh battery and supports 45W wired fast charging, Qi wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. The phone features a reinforced aluminum frame, is only 7.4mm thick, weighs 190g, and is IP68 dust and water resistant. It runs One UI 8 based on Android 16 and promises seven generations of system updates and seven years of security maintenance. Furthermore, the heat dissipation area has been increased by 10% compared to the previous generation, and Galaxy AI features are fully integrated to further optimize the user experience.

In terms of pricing, the phone is available in the US with two configurations: 8GB+128GB for $649.99 and 8GB+256GB (also available at a limited-time promotion at $649.99). In the UK, a 512GB version is also available for £799 (approximately RMB 7,658). This differentiated pricing may be intended to attract consumers with different budgets, especially the current promotional offer of the 256GB version with no additional cost.

As a continuation of Samsung's "Fan Edition" series, the Galaxy S25 FE strikes a balance between performance and price, and is expected to become a strong competitor in the mid-to-high-end market.
