On August 27, it was reported that Tesla first launched the all-new Model Y in the Chinese market on January 10 of this year. Two models are available: a rear-wheel drive version with an estimated range of 593 kilometers and a long-range all-wheel drive version with an estimated range of 750 kilometers. Deliveries began on February 26.
After its launch in the Chinese market, Tesla subsequently launched the all-new Model Y in other markets. Model Y production lines at its Shanghai Gigafactory, Berlin Gigafactory, Fremont, California, and Texas Gigafactory were subsequently switched to producing the all-new Model Y. According to the latest foreign media reports, Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory has produced 100,000 all-new Model Ys.
The Berlin Gigafactory's 100,000 all-new Model Y production was announced on Monday local time by Tesla's official social media account, "Tesla Manufacturing." The report also stated that Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory began producing the all-new Model Y in mid-January of this year. The 100,000-unit production milestone reached this Monday, taking approximately seven and a half months. Since the start of production, Tesla's Model Y production capacity at the Berlin Gigafactory has significantly increased, and the next 100,000 units are expected to arrive soon.
Notably, the Model Y L, already available in China, is also expected to be produced at the Berlin Gigafactory. This will allow the facility to produce more than just the current refreshed Model Y.
