Huawei Mate 80 series is expected to be equipped with anti-reflective screen. Will the new iPhone also have it?

Recently, a digital blogger revealed that both Apple and Huawei plan to upgrade their screens to include anti-reflective technology in their new iPhones, promoting widespread adoption across the industry. Based on multiple sources, Huawei's new flagship Mate 80 series is expected to debut with Huawei's proprietary anti-reflective screen technology, while Apple is also developing similar solutions, potentially bringing a breakthrough to the screen experience on the new iPhone.

Since launching its Cloud Clear Soft Screen in 2024, Huawei has achieved AAA standards for anti-glare (AG), anti-reflection (AR), and anti-fingerprint (AF) through a nano-anti-reflective coating, significantly improving screen visibility and touch experience in bright lighting conditions. In August 2025, Huawei debuted mass production of its ultra-clear, eye-protecting Cloud Clear Soft Screen on the MatePad Air 2025 tablet, utilizing two core technologies:

High-precision nano-etching process: Reduces screen flicker by 50%, addressing the blurriness associated with traditional soft screens and enhancing display clarity;

Nano-texture structure + multi-layer scattering technology: Reduces ambient light interference by 99%, achieving uniform light scattering, and achieving SGS Gold Label certification for low visual fatigue.

Industry analysts point out that Huawei is migrating its ultra-clear, eye-protecting Cloud Clear Soft Light screen, proven successful on tablets, to mobile phones. Evidence suggests that the screen materials of Huawei's new phones (presumably the Mate 80 series) are undergoing anti-reflection upgrades, and the technology continues to leverage the core strengths of nano-coating and etching. If implemented, the Mate 80 series will be the first flagship phone to maintain exceptional immunity to interfering light even in complex lighting conditions.

The core value of anti-reflection technology lies in resolving long-standing user pain points: glare in strong sunlight, visual fatigue, and blue light flicker. Through three years of technological iteration, Huawei has gradually built a closed loop of "eye protection, clarity, and writing" experiences. If Apple and other competitors join the fray, consumers can expect to enjoy a comfortable, all-day viewing experience across a wider range of price points.
