Red Magic Gaming Tablet Launches Globally, Powered by Snapdragon 8 Extreme, Priced at €499

Nubia's esports brand, Red Magic, recently officially launched its latest compact gaming tablet, the Red Magic Astra, globally. The tablet is now available in the US, Europe, and other regions.

The Red Magic Astra, which debuted globally last month, features a high refresh rate screen and flagship hardware. It features a 9.06-inch OLED display with a 2400×1504 resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits, 5280Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology, and is certified by TÜV Rheinland for low blue light and flicker-free performance.

In terms of core performance, the Red Magic Astra is powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship processor, the second-generation Snapdragon 8 Series mobile platform. It offers up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage, ensuring ample memory and high-speed read/write capabilities for running heavy 3D games or multitasking. The device comes pre-installed with RedMagic OS 10.5, a deeply customized version of Android 15, and integrates the "Magic Box" game engine for optimized gaming performance and control.

For battery life and charging, the tablet houses a large 8200mAh battery and supports 80W wired fast charging. Notably, it supports "bypass charging," bypassing the battery for direct power during gameplay, effectively reducing device temperature and improving stability during extended gaming sessions. The audio system features dual stereo speakers with spatial audio support for enhanced immersion. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2, ensuring high-speed data transfer and low-latency peripheral connectivity. Secure identification is provided by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Red Magic Astra is available in three storage configurations: 12GB+256GB is priced at 499 euros (about 549 US dollars), 16GB+512GB is priced at 649 euros (about 699 US dollars), and the top-of-the-line 24GB+1TB version is priced at 849 euros (about 899 US dollars).
