Samsung launches the Odyssey G500 gaming monitor with a 6Hz OLED screen

Samsung has launched the Odyssey OLED G6 monitor, positioned as a high-end OLED model for gamers. The brand's catalog has also been expanded with a more affordable device in its proprietary series, the Odyssey G7 and G75F, which have been revised to offer 37-inch and 40-inch diagonals, respectively.

The flagship Odyssey G6 and G60SF feature a 27-inch display with qHD resolution (2560x1440 pixels), a peak brightness of 1000 nits in HDR mode, a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and a response time of 0.03 milliseconds. The monitor has a maximum refresh rate of 500Hz.

The new model supports Flicker Free and Black Equalizer technologies for image enhancement, as well as FreeSync Premium Pro and G-SYNC to prevent frame tearing. The interface set includes a DisplayPort 32 connector with a bandwidth of 1.4 Gbps, two USB Type-A connectors, two HDMI ports, a headphone jack, and USB Type-A and Type-B ports.

Both versions of the Odyssey G7 and G75F feature a curved display with a 1000R curvature radius. The 37-inch model offers a 4K resolution with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, while the 40-inch model boasts a 5K resolution and a 180Hz refresh rate. Both models support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and are VESA certified for DisplayHDR 600.

The Samsung Odyssey G6 and G60SF are priced at $7 in the US, while the 8.99-inch and 11.99-inch versions are priced at $37 and $40, respectively.
