Microsoft is making Windows 365 Reserve available to initial testers as part of the public preview. The Redmond-based company introduced the service several weeks ago and has now further specified its range of features. Windows 365 Reserve serves as a temporary solution for emergencies such as hardware failures, cyberattacks, or other technical disruptions. Each user receives access to a cloud PC, which is set up as needed, for up to ten days a year.
The service is intended to enable companies to keep operations running even in the event of a crisis, thus reducing financial and operational impacts. Microsoft promises easy setup and management of the corresponding cloud PCs. Administration is handled via Microsoft Intune with centralized policies, automated provisioning, and appropriate license management. Users can access their respective cloud PCs from any device via a browser or Windows app, depending on what company policies permit.
Windows 365 Reserve is still in the public testing phase. Participation is therefore limited and requires an application via a dedicated form. Further information can be found on Microsoft's Tech Community blog.
