AMD announced a joint venture with Cisco and Saudi Arabian AI startup HUMAIN to support Saudi Arabia's position as a leading provider of world-class artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for regional and global customers. The joint venture, expected to begin operations in 2026, will combine HUMAIN's advanced data center technology with AMD and Cisco technologies to deliver modern data center capacity with efficient power and lower capital expenditure.
AMD and Cisco will serve as the exclusive technology partners in the joint venture, contributing their product and service portfolios to develop up to 1 gigawatt of AI infrastructure by 2030. The first phase targets a 100-megawatt project, with Cisco providing network equipment and other infrastructure, and AMD providing its Instinct MI450 series AI accelerators.
Earlier this year, AMD and Cisco announced a collaboration with HUMAIN to drive the construction of the world's most open, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective AI infrastructure. Today's announcement further advances this partnership, with the joint venture accelerating transformation and providing cost-effective infrastructure for customers' AI applications.
AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su stated that large-scale delivery of high-performance global AI infrastructure requires strong partnerships. Working with HUMAIN and Cisco, combining leadership, computing, and networking technologies, has enhanced the capabilities and global competitiveness of Saudi Arabia's AI ecosystem. As part of this deepened collaboration, AMD will also establish an AMD Center of Excellence in Saudi Arabia to further accelerate local integration and innovation.
