A blogger has leaked configuration information for the new MacBook Pro. According to the blogger, the new MacBook Pro may feature an ultra-narrow bezel design, deeply integrated with the iconic "Island" design, and equipped with a more vibrant OLED screen. The release date is expected to be late 2026 or early 2027.
Multiple leaks indicate that the new MacBook Pro will be codenamed K114 and K116, and is expected to offer 14-inch and 16-inch models, both using OLED displays. This shift will bring three major advantages to the new MacBook Pro: higher peak brightness, purer black levels, and longer battery life. Thanks to the thinner nature of OLED panels, the new MacBook Pro will have a slimmer and lighter design.
The most notable change is the interaction method. Apple may equip the new MacBook Pro with a touchscreen for the first time. The new touchscreen will use On-cell technology, integrating the touch sensors directly into the display panel, allowing for a thinner screen and better light transmission.
In terms of core performance, the new MacBook Pro may use the M6 series chip. It is reported that the M6 chip is expected to be manufactured using TSMC's 2nm process, achieving a generational leap in performance and energy efficiency. The M6 chip may introduce the same Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM) packaging technology as the iPhone A20 chip. Public information shows that WMCM integrates multiple chips, allowing for the development of more complex chipsets. This advanced packaging process tightly integrates core components such as the CPU, GPU, and memory, significantly improving overall performance.
