Google reveals Pixel 10 Pro Fold foldable phone: looks like the same design as the previous generation, launch may be delayed until October

Google recently unveiled its upcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold foldable phone through an official teaser video. The device will officially debut at the "Made by Google" event on August 20th. The 30-second video shows the new phone inheriting the design language of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, including its signature horizontal camera module and dual-screen layout. However, it also features an elegant gray color scheme, consistent with the color palette previously used in promotional videos for the Pixel 10 series. Notably, the video only shows the device's outline, without revealing specific technical specifications. This "toothpaste-like" marketing has sparked speculation within the industry.

According to multiple sources, the phone may be the first foldable phone to support IP68 dust and water resistance, meaning it can withstand immersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, far exceeding the protection rating of competing devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7. Previously leaked renders suggest a thinner hinge structure, a slight increase in the external screen from 6.3 inches to 6.4 inches, and possible new colors such as Emerald Green. In terms of core specifications, it's expected to be equipped with TSMC's 3nm Tensor G5 chip, a 5015mAh battery, and a 48-megapixel triple-camera system. For the first time, a 1TB storage option will be added.

Despite the imminent launch, supply chain sources indicate that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may be delayed until October due to component supply issues. This aligns with the fact that the teaser video did not specify a release date. In contrast, the standard Pixel 10 series remains on schedule for release on August 28th, highlighting the production challenges facing the foldable product line.
