Apple's new iPhone Air series officially went on sale today at 8:00 AM. All models utilize an eSIM design. Users must bring their ID to a carrier's offline branch for verification and activation. Online activation is currently unavailable.
The iPhone Air is powered by the A19 Pro processor, boasting three times the GPU performance of the A18 Pro. It also features Apple's in-house developed N1 chip and C1X modem, and supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. The phone features a Grade 5 titanium frame and a Ceramic Shield display, measuring just 5.6mm thin. It features a 6.5-inch 120Hz ProMotion display (peak brightness of 3000 nits) and a 48MP hybrid camera.
All three major Chinese carriers support eSIM service, but domestic models can only be linked to two eSIM numbers (international models support eight or more). Apple has revealed that a quick eSIM switch feature will be available in the future, eliminating the need for repeated visits to a branch when switching phones. China Mobile has confirmed that users in other locations can also apply. It is recommended to check branches and complete device activation in advance through the app before visiting to activate the service.
It's worth noting that the phone is contract-free, allowing users to freely choose their carrier's rates, with international roaming covering over 200 countries and regions. Currently, the eSIM service is still in the commercial trial phase, and offline processing is the only way to apply.
