Apple's 2025 Vision Pro headset officially launched today, with a starting price of 29,999 yuan in China. Pre-orders were previously open at 9:00 AM on October 17th. This new generation features a more powerful M5 chip and a new double-loop braided headband (available separately for first-generation users), offering significant improvements in performance, display rendering, AI workflows, and battery life. It also runs visionOS 26 and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
In addition to the headset itself, the accompanying Zeiss optical inserts start at 799 yuan, the travel pod (storage case), battery, and lens hood each start at 1,699 yuan, and the single and double-loop braided headbands are priced at 799 yuan. The new headband features a 3D woven upper and lower band construction. The lower band has an embedded tungsten weight for enhanced stability and a dual-function adjustment knob. Available in small, medium, and large sizes, it is compatible with the previous generation model.
The M5 chip is built on a third-generation 3nm process. Its 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU improve multi-threaded performance and graphics rendering capabilities, respectively, and support hardware-level ray tracing. Its 16-core Neural Engine makes AI tasks twice as fast as previous generations, significantly accelerating the response time of converting photos to spatial scenes. Developers such as JigSpace are already leveraging this chip to enable natural language interaction and complex information visualization in enterprise scenarios.
In addition, the Vision Pro's custom Micro OLED display boasts a 10% pixel rendering improvement and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Combined with the R1 chip, it can process multi-sensor data in 12 milliseconds. It offers up to three hours of battery life (video playback) and supports continuous power delivery.
